The first conference inaugurated on 19-09-2010 with the cooperation of Mr.Kamaraj IAS, Madurai Dist. Collector; Director of Nomads search Centre Mr.Sathyanarayanan and other senior officials and TENT informed the genuine demands of nomads to the Govt. also met Ms.Jayalalitha, then CM on 04-06-2011 and submitted a written memorandum. Then second conference was conducted in the presence of Mr.Sahayam IAS and Madurai-East constituency MLA.

In the meantime, one Mr.Durugaesh, a nomadic society boy aged 16 belongs to a race begging with the makeup of Ramar and Hunuman, living in Sakkimangalam area, was murdered on 11.07.2012 by some anti-social elements. Neither Police nor human right activists took interest to get justice. So TENT, as an organization of nomads, fought for their rights and finally the culnrits were punished. TENT also conducted a Ratha- Yathra from Ramneswaram to Chennai on the International Human Rights Day to create awareness among all races of nomads, Govt. servants, Politicians and general public, on the human rights violation against nomads. The RathaYathra went Ramanathapuram, Tuticorin, Thirunelveli, Viruthunagar, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Sivaganagi, Pudukottai, Thanjavur and Trichy districts. In every district TENT submitted memorandum to the respective Dist.collectors, Police commissioners, Police Superintendents and then met the Chief secretary to take suitable actions against human right violations on nomads, to establish a separate Department for the welfare of nomads and to implement separate reservation policy. This RathaYathra created a tremendous enthusiasm among the nomads.
