In Sivagangai district, Mana Madurai Taluk, around 250 families of street circus community nomadic people are living for years. In order to get Thomban(SC) community certificate for them, more than five years TENT- Society have given several petitions to Sivagangai district collectorate. On the basis of given petitions, on 5th March,2020 under the presence of Madras university anthropology professor Muniraj, Sivagangai SC/ST welfare minister and other related officials, a study was conducted on their place. According to this study, a report was sent to government stating that these street circus people belong to Thomban(SC) community and as later community certificates can be given accordingly.
